2 Today is Friday May 1 DAY 1

3 Oakland Catholic lost a pair of tough games to Upper St. Clair. The Varsity battled back to loose 9-6. Bella Alampi had 3 goals, Katie Kush and Sophie Young each had one, Julia Lewand added a goal and an assist. Mary Beth Miller had 13 saves. shoutout to defense of Cecca Morgano, Coop, Maggie Halferty, and Steph Stoessel for standing tall!! JV hung in there but lost 7-0. Rachel Pawlik had 16 saves in goal.

4 Girls Who Code Club MISSION: Girls Who Code programs work to inspire, educate, and equip girls with the computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities. Final Meeting: Monday, May 4 at 2:45 Collaboration Room

7 Attention students: The hallway outside of the lecture hall will be closed Monday May 4th after 5th period due to AP exams. Please stop by your locker prior to 5th period for any materials you need for afternoon exams.

8 Attention AP Psychology students: a reminder that your exam is scheduled for Monday May 4th. The exam will take place in the Lecture Hall. Please report to the Lecture Hall by 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

9 Good Luck Marathon Runners! Good Luck to all the OC Students, Faculty and Staff that are running in the Pittsburgh Marathon on Sunday. Some of the participants are: Meghan Maffei, Mia Fratto, Sophie Westfield, Tori Trost, Addie McEvoy, Sara Marlovits, Mary O’Brien, Maria Belechak, Melanie Long, Megan McGann, Ms. Caitlin O’Brien Rice and Mr. Kornosky!!

10 The café will be closed on Friday, May 1.

11 Attention, Seniors The Peace Pole Ceremony will be held this Friday, May 1 st at 8:30am. We will have practice for Baccalaureate Mass and the liturgy luncheon immediately following the Peace Pole Ceremony.

12 On Monday the Oakland Catholic Track and Field Team ran the Freshmen-Sophomore Meet at Peter's Twp.Invitational. The team captured 26 Ribbons at the Invitational. A special shout out to sophomore Essence Canady who won 3 races. She won the 100 meters, the 200 meters and was a member of the 4X100 meter relay. Congratulations to Essence and the team.

14 Attention Field Hockey Team The Field Hockey Booster Club invites you to a General Meeting on Monday, May 4 at 6PM in the school cafeteria. We would like to introduce you to the activities we have planned for the coming season and hopefully entice those students still considering it, to join this fun sport. We expect to have Coach Jackie with us to explain what the pre- season training will look like; we will provide information on summer camp; and we will have a look at the events that we support during the season that runs August-October. Please, join us and give it a chance! It is a wonderful way to get some exercise, make friends across all classes and build team spirit. And not only for the students, but for the parents as well! Looking forward to seeing you on the 4th.

15 Blood Brother Screening Global Awareness Club will host a screening of the movie Blood Brother. It details the journey of native Pittsburgher Rocky Braat as he travels to work at an orphanage for children living with HIV and AIDS. It is a heartwarming story of how joy prevails despite poverty, sickness, and death. JOA Theater on Thursday, May 7th at 2:50 pm Tickets: $3 beforehand, $5 at the door  Can buy them next week at lunch All proceeds will go to the Christian organization WorldVision in order to help those living with AIDS

17 DANCING WITH THE VIKINGS The third annual Dancing with the Vikings will be held Friday, May 1 st at Central Catholic’s McGonigle Theater. It will begin at 7 o’clock. Attend to watch some of your fellow students teach some Central Vikings a few dance moves. All funds will go toward The Guatemala Club and Central’s Haiti Fund. Admission is $5. Tickets will be sold next week during lunches. Bring some friends! It is a great event for an even greater cause!
