4 A Sustainable Approach to Increasing Cancer Screening in Community Health Centers (Emmons, PI) –Collaboration with UCLA –Goals: »evaluate sustainable strategies for maximizing cancer screening rates »adapt and disseminate intervention to community health centers in Boston and Los Angeles »evaluate factors influencing adoption and implementation of the intervention in this dissemination phase. 5 REPRESENTATIVE STUDIES (cont’d) Boston University Patient Navigation Research Program (Battaglia, PI) Design, implement and evaluate a navigation program which aims to: »reduce time to diagnosis after an abnormal mammogram or Pap smear; »reduce time to initiate treatment after a cancer diagnosis; »improve patient satisfaction with health services; »reduce health care costs.
