5 D ata  Core Instruction – The of RTI  Decision Rules – Is this intervention working or not? How do you know?  Triangulate your Data  What does the data around your implementation look like?

6 I ndividual needs If we aren’t responding to the needs of individual children each day then what are we doing? What is the role of the teacher? What is the role of the administrator? What is the role of the specialists?

7 F ocus  Systems level thinking – NOT the squeaky wheel.  Direct the resources to support students  Time is the variable – How do we catch them up?  How can we improve instruction?

8 F amilies Family Involvement vs. Family Engagement  Shared responsibility in which we engage families in meaningful ways to support learning and development.  Who are the families in your school that are NOT engaged? Do they have children who are struggling learners?  What are you doing as a system to connect with all families in a manner that respects their individual differences?

13 Teams Take two minutes of private think time and record every team meeting you have been involved in since the beginning of school? GO! Did you have the school decision maker at each meeting? Did you have a clear agenda with everyone knowing why you were there? Do you know what decisions were made and who was responsible for ensuring all decisions were followed through on? How do your team processes ensure you ACT and not REACT?
