3 ASSESSMENT Academic Achievement and Engagement for All Students: BOE Focus Areas 2006-2008 Pre-K-12 guaranteed, viable, district curriculum that meets the educational needs of all children Implement research-based instructional strategies that promote high levels of student engagement Reading, writing, and vocabulary integrated into all content areas Seek partnerships and research strategies that increase achievement in math and science with an emphasis on technology Integrate technology into the teaching and learning process Monitor, analyze, and seek continuous improvement in Parkway/State/ National academic indicators 3

4 ASSESSMENT What do we believe about assessment in Parkway? Student Academic Assessment is integral to the learning process to inform student’s learning. It should involve multiple measures and various question types from national, state, district, and classroom assessments. Every student has a continuous capacity to learn. 4
