3. Shakira was born on February 2, 1977 in Colombia. She is the only child of William Mebarak Chadid and Nidia Ripoll.

4. When Shakira was two years old, her older brother had died in a motorcycle accident, at the age of eight, Shakira wrote her first song "Your dark glasses”. She found an inspiration for the song in her father,who wore dark glasses for years to hide his grief.
