2 1877 In 1877, Thomas Alva Edison successfully recovered Mary’s had a Little Lamb. He recovered this song using only a strip of tin foil, wrapped around a spinning cylinder. arhttp:// Mry;

3 1878 In 1878, the first song put on a record, Jules Levy plays the song “Yankee Doodle.”

4 1895 In 1895, the Marconi invents the first radio communication from Italy to America.

5 1906 In 1906, Lee DeForest invented the first vacuum tube, which was the first electronic signal amplifier.

6 1913 In 1913, the first talking movie is demonstrated by Edison.

7 1919 In 1919, the first radio station is founded, and was partly owned by United Fruit.

8 1921 In 1921, the first AM radio broadcast is made by KDKA, and it was broadcasted in Pittsburgh, PA.

9 1926 In 1926, O’Neill iron oxide covered, tape made out of paper.

10 1927 In 1927, “The Jazz Singer,” was released, claiming the title as the first commercial talking picture. They used Vitaphone sound on disks, synchronized with film.

11 1941 In 1941, the commercial FM broadcasting begins in the United States.

12 1946 In 1946, the company Webster-Chicago manufactured wire recorders.

13 1963 In 1963, a man with the last name Philips introduced the Compact Cassette tape format, and he offered licenses to do so worldwide!

14 1975 In 1975, digital recording starts to take place in professional studios.

15 1983 In 1983, fiber optic cable was used for long distance audio-transmission. This linked New York and Washington DC.

16 1984 In 1984, the Apple company sends the Macintosh computer out in the markets.

17 1994 In 1994, the TV brand Yamaha introduced the ProMix1, which was the first affordable digital multi-track console!

18 1995 In 1995, the mp3 player was invented.

19 1995 In 1995, the first solid-state audio recorder is introduced to the world. It is called Nagra ARES-C.

20 1997 In 1997, DVD videos and DVD players were invented.

21 1998 In 1998, MP3 players, for internet sound and audio are unveiled!

22 2004 In 2004, the DualDisc was invented. A DualDisc is a CD on one side, and a movie on the other side.
