3 Areas of Need Area2011-20122012-2013Note College and Career Ready 28.542.1 Short of Our Goal of 46.1 Although we made improvements in this area we did not meet our goal Average Freshmen Graduation Rate Special Education Graduation Rate 77.677.3 Short of Our Goal of 79.5 63.64%. Short of Our Goal of 85.0 Kentucky has adjusted this calculation to allow for legitimate adjustments to student numbers. Our Adjusted Cohort 2013 Score is 86.9 with a Goal of 88.1 for 2014. We desperately need four (4) special education teachers!!! ACT/PLAN18.2/16.218.2/ 16.5Although our ACT scores did not decline, we did not improve. Our PLAN scores made a small improvement from the previous year. Our students are scoring below state average in all areas.

4 Plan for Improvement OverallELAACT CCRMathScienceS Studies School Focus on Literacy and Assessment with Standards Based Grading Communicate Scores from Previous Years and Issue a Student Challenge. Calculate Expected Index and Identify Target Kids for Extra Assistance Refinement and Improvement of EXCEL Classes Improve College Ready Numbers by adding and ASVAB Prep Class and Work Keys will also be added this year Communicate Scores from Previous Years and Issue a Student Challenge. Calculate Expected Index and Identify Target Kids for Extra Assistance Improve RTI Program and Practices including GSA, Credit Recovery, Extra, and Excel. Regular Practice with ODW and exposure to all types of prompts student will encounter More rigorous and challenging materials- especially in Honors Courses KOSSA Test Prep Classes Added and Teachers Embedding More KOSSA Prep in Classes Develop and Use a Calculator unit to help students perform better. Continue to present more challenging and rigorous material. Utilize Quality Core items. Routinely incorporate Quality Core Samples Add student incentives for P/D during EOC’s and Improve Wildcat Club Incentives Uniformity between Teachers with instructional practices and communication of expectations (Common LT’s) Adding PLAN test to 9 th and 10 th grade and ACT to 10 th and 11 th grade (extra practice) Refinement and Improvement Of Industry Certification Test Prep ACT/COMPASS/ QC Bell Ringers in all Algebra II classes. Alignment of Curriculum (Next Generation Science Standards) Refine Curriculum Pacing Guides to ensure students learn the content from the last 20 years.
