DRY MEASUREMENTS Dry measuring cups are used to measure dry ingredients. There are 16 Tablespoons in 1 cup. Measuring spoons can be used for small amounts of both dry AND liquid ingredients. There are 3 teaspoons in 1 Tablespoon.

Weight Measurements Weight measurements are most accurate and are used in most quantity cooking. There are 16 ounces in 1 pound. Weight measurements you should know: 1 pkg. butter/margarine= 1 lb. 1 cup shredded cheese= 4 oz.* 1 cup chocolate chips= 6 oz.* *(measuring cheese or ch. chips in a measuring cup (volume) would include airspace, so the weight is less than a solid)
