2. About His Child Hood He was the first of two sons. His father was Lois Spinelli and his mother was Lorna Mae Bigler Spinelli. Never as a child did he imagine himself as a writer. Instead he dreamed of being a cowboy. During his adolescence he instead started fantasizing about sports.

3. Personal Life and Getting Married At Gettysburg college he started writing first short stories. In 1977 he married Eileen Mesi. She was a writer and mother of six. Even with the noise of his other children, he didn’t want to give up his High School dream.
