1 Class: Crustacea Order: Phyllopoda Suborder: Cladocera Family: Bosminidae Eubosmina longispina Description: Plate 002a. Lateral view of Eubosmina longispina. Plate 002b. Position of bristle on frontal lobe closer to rostrum than the eye. Plate 002c. Mucro of Eubosmina longispina. Plate 002d. Lateral view of Eubosmina longispina. Common bosminid species in Florida, considered one of the small bodied cladocerans. Can be distinguished from other bosminids by the position of the bristle on frontal lobe of head being closer to the base of rostrum than the eye, having a smooth frontal lobe of head, and having a squared-off carapace at the dorsal-posterior side. Mucro (end spine of carapace) is generally longer than that found on Bosmina longirostris.
