5 Distinguished Lecturers Program l What is it? l A personal visit from a renowned lecturer. l Offered by Societies/Councils. l How do Chapters benefit? l Outstanding technical content at a meeting. l Visit counts towards meeting requirements. l Opportunity to expand the Chapter.

8 Electronic Distinguished Lecturers Program (EDL) l Why electronic? l Available in CD-ROM format. l The lectures can be used to add technical content to a meeting. l Free for use by Chapters & Sections. l Available in English and Spanish. l No Scheduling Problems!

13 SAMI Section Access to Member Information l One person in each Section is given regular updates on local Membership l You can get Member information from that person. l Arrange for Regular updates of your Chapter data.

14 Chapter Opportunity Analysis l What is a Chapter Opportunity Analysis? l By Request, IEEE Staff will help you identify areas that have the opportunity to form or expand a Chapter by searching the entire IEEE Membership database. l Generally consists of a Membership count by IEEE Geographical Region and Section.

15 Chapter Opportunity Analysis l How can I use a Chapter Opportunity Analysis? l Contact related Societies with dense populations to host joint events. l In the future, if you find you’re in an area without a Chapter, find out if you can start one!

16 IEEE Senior Member Program l Prestigious! l Senior Members receive a plaque and 25$ for a Society Membership l Must be a Senior Member to hold an IEEE Executive Office l Senior Members have high retention rates

17 IEEE Senior Member Program l Any IEEE Member with: l 10 years of experience (including 5 years education) l 5 years of professional performance l References from 3 Senior Members OR 2 Senior Members and a nomination from a Society

18 Society Chapter Funding l The Society Chapter Funding Guide l Overview of Chapter funding and funding policies for most Societies. l Section Rebates - 180$ per Chapter l Only distributed to Sections if the Chapters report! http://www.ieee.org/organizations/tab/ciasocfdgui.html

19 Chapter Funding P.2 l Society Chapter Subsidies l Societies may provide funding to support Chapter initiatives. l This funding may be annual or on a case by case basis. l You have to ask! l Contact the Society’s Chapter Coordinator and submit a request. l Joint Chapters may be eligible for funding from both sponsoring Societies.
