Introduction Hello! We are four friendly fifth graders from St. Bartholomew academy in Scotch Plains New Jersey. We are so excited to work with you and compare what we found. We did our square next to a building next to our school on mulch and grass to get more variety.

Prediction Our prediction for biotic was that we would find grass, bugs, roots, bushes, and trees. Our prediction for the abiotic was rocks, dead leaves, trash, dirt, cement, and buildings.

Actual Actual While we were outside we found biotic things like baby worms, grass, lots of trees, leaves, bees and roots. For the abiotic we found sticks, dirt, mulch, deer droppings, trash, dead leaves, rocks, feathers, a curb, and a pen.

Texas Texas We picked Texas because we thought Texas would be a good place to compare our square of life to. Also, we thought it would be interesting to do Texas and learn about their enviorments.

 Some of us liked the project because we thought it was fun to go out and work with each other. We also liked the project because it was a nice change from being inside all day.  One of us didn’t like the project so much because she thought it was boring and there was deer droppings close to our square. The only part that she liked about it was that she got to see a worm.

 Thank you for watching and learning with us, the Natreez! We were so happy to do the Square of Life project and learn what was outside of our square.
