2. What they are: Employability Skills 2000+ are the critical skills you need in the workplace—whether you are self-employed or working for others. Employability Skills 2000+ include communication, problem solving, positive attitudes and behaviours, adaptability, working with others, and science, technology and mathematics skills.

3. How we’ll use them: Since the employability skills are important in receiving and maintaining jobs, we will be working with them in-depth before we apply them to resumes, cover letters, and job interviews.

4. This process will include: defining important terms self-evaluating of the various skills giving specific examples of how these skills have been used or developed how they could be further developed in the future

5. Generic and Hard Skills

Generic Skills Generic skills are skills that enable people to work well on a team, to master new technology relatively quickly, to adapt to changing circumstances, to grow and change as their careers developed--the kinds of things that make for good employees, no matter what the vocation. Also known as transferable skills.

7. Examples of Generic Skills Examples of generic skills include: having effective communication skills managing information using numbers thinking and solving problems

8. Hard Skills Hard skills refer to the "demonstrable skills" that you possess. For example, a secretary has demonstrable skills in typing, operating a computer, etc. Working in the retail sector, hard skills may include the ability to handle cash transactions, to set up displays, to merchandise. These are thing that you can do.
