What is Q*bert? Qbert it a half-way to 3D arcade game that was released in 1982. It was a very popular game at the time, and gamer’s would go head to head for the highest score in some arcade conventions and tournaments.

The start of Q*bert Qbert started as a basic game where the objective was to just turn all cubes into the color that it was being shown, Gotllieb was going to name it “Cubes”. But of course, they found a way to make it better and eventually made it into what it is today.

Game progress and earnings. Gotllieb sold Q*bert for 2600$ per arcade unit, eventually selling over 250,000 arcade units, and because it became popular quick, it made a legacy in the arcade field. Critics were calling Q*bert “A rare arcade success.” After some time, Qbert made over 65,000,000$ in US Revenue.

The arcade unit The arcade unit was okay. Just the basic design of the character and game, nothing really fancy.

Controls and buttons The player doesn’t need much. There 2 buttons which decide to either play as 1 player or 2. The joystick is to move qbert around and that’s about it.

Gameplay Well you basically have to jump on all the cubes that are shown on the pyramid and turn them into the color shown. There are enemy mobs that fall on a specific pattern and then theres this irritating snake that chases you around nonstop. The way to get rid of it is to jump on a rainbow disc when he is near to make him fall off. Its basically just to see how far you go, and how many points you get, theres no ending.

High freaking scores On November 28 1983 this beast mode guy named Rob Gerhardt made a score of 33,273,520 points in a qbert marathon. But then this guy named George Leutz beat him with 37,163,080 by playing 84 hours and 48 minutes... So yeah, OP Scores…
