14 13 2009 SRTC Highlights and Accomplishments Barbara Leary of ATK TPC served as 2009 JPC Solid Rockets Session organizer  15 sessions and 61 technical papers  2 special sessions for Dr. Kuo and tactical missiles (panel)  Thanks to TC members helping chair sessions!  Developing and forwarding new lessons learned to 2010 JPC organizer Fred Blomshield of NSWC is serving as the 2010 Solid Rockets Session organizer-will provide status Need 2011 and 2012 SRTC conference chairs!

18 17 SRTC Plans for 2010 and Beyond (Old Business - cont) Prior 3 items need a champion, a leader  Develop requirements – objective/goal  Create a plan with discrete tasks  Assign staff  Create a schedule –Yes, these are worthwhile endeavors but will not happen without support Do we want to support these activities? Move these items to a Parking Lot for future consideration

19 18 SRTC Needs to Continue Support of Existing Committee Projects Continue record of excellence with annual 2-page Solid Rockets highlights article for Aerospace America magazine  Don’t’ let 2009 start a trend!  Also, don’t be afraid to delegate and ask for help! Continue with best paper awards Continue to support and lead Wyld Award Continue to acknowledge SRTC staff with internal awards Continue to support JPC by being a session chair or conference chair Continue to interact with local sections  Don’t be afraid to ask for money to support youth activities

Do TC members participate with their local sections?  More ideas from the TC members –Propose something you would like to do! AIAA SRTC serves you and you community!  What new topics or initiatives do we want to take on? –Liaisons, lifetime achievement award, next short course, increase student involvement, etc?

27 Action Items 2008  Solicit more nominees for SR TC’s – all  Hall of Fame website – Fisher/Leary/Foster  Coordinate student design competition with AIAA-Black  Lessons learned from JPC organizing to be passed on – Ellis, Friedlander, and now Leary 2009  Ensure SRTC article is on 2010 December AA!  SRTC annual report due by the end of January 2010 26
