USSF North Carolina Arbiter Referee Assignment Site An Introduction & Guide for Use by Referees © Copyright June 2005 by Paul James, all rights reserved SECTION 2

Clicking on schedule brings up your games. If show all is clicked it brings up past games as well as future ones. If not clicked then only future games display.

Schedule Page Information From your schedule page you can: Check the complete crew assigned Add notes to the game for others to see Review or create a match report See your assigned position See all game site, date, time & team info See your assignment status

Schedule Page Info (Cont.) You can also download and print your schedule in one of six different formats you select. You can get a Map Quest set of directions to the field site. You can see the field and team personnel contact information. The next slides will display these options

Game #, Click on this to bring up referee crew info Notes icon, click on this to create or see a note. Match Report Icon, click here to create or view a match report

To print your schedule click here This is the group # from whom the game was assigned. Click on the # to display the group name. This is the position you have been assigned for that particular match.

This shows the day, date & time of the game. This shows the game level This is the school or field site where the game is played. Click on it for directions. This is the home team, click on it for team contact info.

If you have new or unaccepted games in your schedule they will be colored differently and will have the green and red check box along with the date by which you must accept or decline. A purple background means you have looked at the game, a yellow background means it is a new assignment.

Accepting or Declining Games In order to accept or decline games you must put a check in either the green (accept) box or the red (decline) box of EACH new game. You MUST then also click on the submit button in the upper right corner of the page. If you take no action by the accept date you will be automatically removed from the assignment and listed as unavailable for the time of the game.

Linked Games Some times games are linked by the assignor. This means you must accept or decline the linked games as a complete set, either accepting them all or declining them all. Linked games will have only one accept and decline box spread across all the linked games.

Accepted Games When you accept a game the gray box at the end of the game will display the words Accepted on [date you accepted], such as Accepted on 5/25/2005. If this is not displayed then you have not successfully submitted your acceptance.

Declined Games When you check decline and press submit that game is removed from your schedule. The system automatically removes you from the game and puts a block on your calendar for the time of that game. An email is also automatically sent to the assignor reporting the decline.

Turnback Games A Turnback is a game which you have previously accepted and now find that you cannot do. A referee cannot remove himself from an accepted game. He must inform the assignor that he needs to be removed. The assignor must then remove the referee from the match. When this is done the gray box where Accepted was will now read Turned Back on [date]

This is an example of a turnback. When a referee is marked as a turnback on a game, no other arbiter assignor in ANY arbiter group can assign him a game at the time of the turned back match. The referee is completely unavailable.

If you click on the Game # in your schedule page the crew info appears

From this page you can locate crew members addresses, pictures, & telephone #s. You can also create notes for the crew or teams and send email to the whole crew or just individual members.

To see officials addresses & pictures click on their name

For example, clicking on the name Mark Kadlecik, the SAR of this match, brings up this screen. To get directions to his address click on the address.

Clicking on the SAR’s address brings up the interactive MapQuest web page with the address location

To send email to the whole crew & the assignor, click on the email tab Click on the word “Email” to launch your email program and create an email with all addresses already listed.

Officials Phone Numbers You can locate crew members phone numbers either by clicking on their name to display all contact info or By clicking on the drop button beside the phone number listed which will display all phone numbers for the official.

For example, by clicking on the AR’s phone list button, all of his phone #s display All ARs phone #s are displayed.

To Post a Note to the Game Click on the red or green note icon (a green note icon means there are already other notes for this game which you can see by clicking on the note icon)

This brings up the note creator To create a note click on the red + button

Clicking the + brings up Put whatever message you want here and then check the groups you want to be able to see the message and then click the green save check mark.

When you save the note it looks like this Only those groups you checked will be able to see the note. If no groups are checked then only the assignors can see the note.

The Master Schedule Clicking on the Master Schedule link will bring up this page showing all games in the USSF North Carolina site.

You can display fewer games than all by using the drop down buttons to set different criteria to select only the games for which you are looking

The Attach Function Clicking on the Attach link brings up this screen from which you can select the games you wish to attach.

To find the games you wish to attach use the drop down buttons to select the criteria. Once the selected games are displayed click on the green attach check box for each game you wish to attach, then click submit.

Reasons to Attach to a Game You are a player or coach on a team involved in the game. You are a parent, brother, sister or other relative of a player or coach of an involved team AND you want to watch the game. For any other reason you do not want to be scheduled to referee on an attached game or during the time it is playing.

Cautions About the Attach Function If you attach yourself to a game that attachment remains even if the game is rescheduled. Only an assignor can remove an attachment. Once attached a referee cannot remove an attachment. You will show as unavailable for any game whose time, including travel time, overlaps with the attached game time.
