Once upon a time, in Ancient Egypt, there was a palace. In that palace there was a queen, guards, and a princess. The princess’ name was Dakor. The queen was jealous of Dakor’s beauty and made her do all her chores. One day, Dakor was scrubbing the floors outside.

Happily, she hummed with some creatures. Once or twice daily, when she was alone, the queen would look at a pile of sand that was always sitting on the floor and say, “Sand, sand on the floor who is the fairest one of all?” The sand pile would usually say, “You are!” to the queen.

But on the same day that Dakor was scrubbing the outside floor, the queen asked the sand pile who was the fairest one of all? This time the sand pile did not say you are. It replied, “Dakor is the fairest one of all”.

Dakor?”the queen gasped, shocked. Back with Dakor, each animal was singing along with Dakor. Then suddenly a boy came near the fence. But it was not any ordinary boy. It was a prince. He heard Dakor and the animals singing and it was lovely.

Later the next day, Dakor went out to study cacti thorns. One of the queens guards came to attack the princess. He took a thorn from a nearby cactus and started toward Dakor. When she was not looking, the guard started to press the thorn into her back. The princess luckily looked back to notice the guard.

She gasped! But the guard exclaimed, “You are too pretty to kill. Run into the fields and never come back.” The princess did what the guard said and ran away. Later the girl got scared and fell on the ground. Suddenly some animals came.

Hippos, birds, and more were there. Dakor got up and asked if they could lead her to a home. The animals led her to a small house. “Thank you!” Dakor said as the animas scurried away.

She went to the house and knocked on the door. Seven monkeys answered. They could talk. Dakor was a little scared, but she came in. They had fun together!

At the queen’s palace, the queen was working on a potion to make her look like someone else. She put in one last ingredient, then she drank the potion and she looked like a ugly man with a black hooded jacket. Then she made a poison apple.

When Dakor woke up the next morning she sent the seven monkeys out. She wanted to make them a surprise blueberry pie. When she was finished, the queen showed up and asked her if she wanted an apple. Dakor did not know it was the queen with a poison apple, so she took the apple and bit into it.

She fell on the floor with a big thud. Luckily the monkeys came back to see what had happened. They saw the ugly man. The monkeys grabbed their weapons and ran toward the man. They chased him to a cliff and the queen tried to roll a big heavy boulder on the monkeys.

But, Dakor had fell into a deep sleep. The prince (from the beginning ) showed up and kissed Dakor on the lips. She woke up! The monkeys were happy and danced. The prince offered for her to live in the palace and they lived happily ever after.
