1 Light enters through the pupil, and reaches the lens, which focuses light on the retina. The retina contains light sensitive cells called cones and rods. The cones and rods change light energy into electrical impulses which travel through the optic nerve to the brain. Cones require more light and are color-sensitive. Rods require less light and are not color-sensitive. Sight

3 Visual Pathway Stimuli from right field of vision travels to left side of brain, and vice versa.
