1 Learning Styles BY JALEEA YELVERTON

2 My Initial Post Learning styles is important in all aspects in the classroom. Learning styles are correlated with multiple intelligences. Learning styles include visual, auditory and kinesthetic. Visual learners learn through sight such as writing notes and reading textbooks. Auditory learners learn through listening such as hearing a professor lecture during class. Kinesthetic learners learn through action such as hands on activities. It wasn't until earlier this year that I personally really understood my learning style. Once I figured out my learning style it made it so much easier to study and even pay attention in class. As a teacher, we must be aware of all learning styles in your classroom. This comes in need when figuring out why a student may not be successful in the classroom. A teacher must not show too much attention to one learning style in order to keep equality in tack. Accomodations are also determined due to learning styles. Without learning styles school would just be lecture all day and every day.

3 Response to Elaine Elaine:When researching learning styles on the internet I found that most people agree there are 8 kinds of learners. Visual, musical/auditory, physical/kinaesthetic, combination, solitary, social, logical/mathematical, and verbal. These learning styles are all pretty different and people can be a combination of them. Some people learn by acting things out (physical), some learn better with diagrams and pictures (visual), and others learn using logic and reasoning (logical). I even took a test and it concluded that I am a visual learner, which I agree with because I've always been a very visual person and pretty hands on. Me: I enjoy taking the learning style assessments because it always helps me learn about myself. I am a kinesthetic and visual learner. I enjoy doing hands on activities and seeing what I am supposed to learn. Why do you believe that it is important include these learning styles in the classroom? Would you have your students do a small assessment at the beginning the school year?

4 Response to Afernee Anfernee: While researching learning styles, I learned that Learning styles are simply different approaches or ways of learning. I found 3 different effective learning styles which are visual learners, auditory learners, and tactile/kinesthetic learners. Each learning style is important to a student's success in academic. Visual learners think in pictures, auditory learners use sounds, and Tactile learners use hands-on activities. Learning styles are important to the success in the classroom. As a student, I felt the need to understand my learning style to better my success. FIguring out my learning style, It has been easier to retain important information. When becoming a teacher, I will be aware of my students learning styles. Ultimately. this will help me regulate students who have trouble learning faster. Me: Learning the students' learning styles will be my favorite thing when becoming a teacher. This will be a challenge that I look forward to. All the learning styles should be introduced just so no child is left out in the classroom. Learning styles is the most important concept when establishing yourself as a teacher.
