6 California CPS Technician Training Updates Stipends Co-Instructor, $2,100 – must teach a minimum of 6 hours every day. Lead Instructor, $2,400 – must teach a minimum of 6 hours every day and be the lead in organizing the instructors and/or the course. Instructor Candidates $2,100 – must teach every day, otherwise amount will be modified CPS Special Needs class - 2013 June 20, Orange Co. 7 California Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Laws Vehicle Code (VC) 27360.6 – Penalties and Fines http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc27360_6.htm Effective January 1, 2012 all the CPS fine monies that had previously been authorized through Vehicle Codes 27360 and 27360.5 are now through a new vehicle code, namely VC 27360.6. CPS County programs need to confirm the procedures of the courts to ensure that CPS fine monies are deposited into the correct (county health department CPS account) from VC 27360.6. 9 CPS Education CPS Roll Call Video VOSP has updated the 2009 (law enforcement) Roll Call video in collaboration with: Traci Rebiejo of Livermore Police Department AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Automobile Club of Southern California 800 DVD have been made and will be mailed statewide to County CPS programs, Safe Kids Chapter/Coalitions, and CPS Advocates. Intended for distribution to local law enforcement offices. Changes: VC 27360 covers ages 0-8 years in a car or booster seat in the rear seat. Includes the image of “Stand Up Alejandro” and a way for officers to measure and remember 4’9” on themselves or uniform.
