3. What are Bugs  The scientific name of an bug is an invertebrate animal of the class Insecta of the phylum Arthropoda-which means jointed feet.  Another common word for a bug is an insect.

Bugs are also…  small, air-breathing animals.  characterized by a segmented body with three main parts: head- most forward section of the body thorax- mid. part of body between head & abdomen abdomen- rear part of the bug  In their adult forms, they typically have three pairs of legs, one pair of antennae, and in most instances, two pairs of wings..

Bug’s are our friends  Many insects are valuable as predators of other harmful species, and some are important as scavengers and as “tiller’s” of the soil.  Insects are the source of useful products such as honey, beeswax,& silk.  They are a major source of food for many animals.  Some people even EAT insects in many parts of the world.

6. We could DIE if there were no bugs left in the world!!!

7. How could that happen?  without insects to pollinate flowers, the human race would soon run out of food because many of the crop plants that we rely on would not be able to reproduce.

Why would we die?
