UNIVERSITY OF JYVÄSKYLÄ FACULTY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY 2007 PROBLEM: Information technology is not attractive to women  Portion of women in IT faculty –27% of Master students on Economics and IS –16% of Master students on Mathematical Information Technology –25% of Graduate students in the IT faculty –Portion of women applying to MIT studies is decreasing –One female professor out of the 17 professors of the IT faculty –Most of the females on the staff work on two master study branches: Digital Media and CS Teacher Education.
