Background One of the main outcomes of the GreenInfraNet project is the establishment of a Network for Knowledge about the Green Infrastructure. Nicosia Development Agency was appointed to be the leading partner towards this task and also the partner that would be responsible for administrating the new Network after its establishment, in cooperation with all other members. Process so far has included: 2 Workshops (one in Nicosia, Cyprus and one in Valencia, Spain) 2 questionnaires for the partners (participative democratic process) Action plan elaboration 1 meeting with representatives of D.G. Environment of the European Commission (6 December 2013) Partners’ agreement on name “European Network for Green Infrastructure KNowledge and Experience (ENGINE)” 2

ENGINE FOCUS Objective A Legal Entity European Network for collecting, organizing, sharing and disseminating information on practical experience with GI at local and regional level in Europe 3 Main Activities Establishing and managing a projects database (follow up GIN project) Organizing study visits (share practical experience on developing and implementing GI. Organizing conferences and workshops. Hosting online discussion forums. Producing publications. Disseminating information provided by the EC’s platform Consulting the EC’s information platform, providing on- the-ground information, experience and expertise ENGINE will support the Commission’s policy development on GI.
