Personal Planning System Enterprise Edition The Assigning New Service Objectives
2
Service objectives are things staff and friends are going to do for a consumer. To see a consumer’s current service objectives, first open a consumer’s folder.
3
Under the “People” menu, we see a menu item called “Elizabeth’s Service Objectives”. Click on this.
4
The Service Objectives screen operates like many other PPS screens. Whichever item on the top is highlighted has its specifics shown on the bottom of the screen. To add a new service objective, we click on “Insert”.
5
Clicking “Insert” opened up a new line for us to fill out on the top part of the screen. First we will give the new service objective a service objective number - S-06 to be exact.
6
Don’t worry that the S-06 service objective seems to be out of order. The PPS will put it in the right order later.
7
When we press twice after entering the title, the cursor goes to the Start date field.
8
The start date is the date the service objective is assigned. If this is a recurring service objective, the difference between the start date and the target date will be used to determine how many days prior to the next target date this item should begin to appear on this staff person’s To-Do list.
9
We’ll allow 15 days for this service objective to be accomplished.
10
To assign the responsible person, click on the arrow just to the right of the Responsible Person field. This will bring up a pick-list you can choose from.
11
We’ll assign this to Susan Hoyle. Usually we only need to type the first few letters of a person’s name to bring their name to the top of the list.
12
This service objective will show up on Susan Hoyle’s To-Do list.
13
It was decided at the meeting where Elizabeth’s Plan was developed that Susan should take Elizabeth shopping for room decorations every two months. To enter this, we first click on the arrow to the right of “Should be done”. From the pick-list, we choose “Every …”
14
In the next box we enter a number. In this case, we enter the number “2”.
15
.. and choose months instead of days from the next pick-list.
16
The next two date fields specify which two months are covered by this particular episode of shopping for room decorations. We’ll say this first one covers September and October.
17
Susan Hoyle is a Direct Care worker, so we will select this category from the Discipline pick list.
18
If instructions would be helpful, type them in the Instructions box.
19
Every two months when this service objective becomes active, these instructions will automatically be placed in the new service objective’s instructions box. After typing the instructions, click on “OK”.
20
Then click on “OK” to return to the Open folder screen.
21
To Summarize... With an open chart, go to “Service Objectives” under the People screen Click on “Insert” to add a new one Type all necessary information When done click on “OK”, then “OK” to return to the open folder screen
