13. Your Assignment  Create a 2-3 color print from linocut.  The Theme: MN, The North Star State (Optional…however, this may earn you extra brownie points with Manders). This themed art could be entered in the 2015 3 rd District Congressional show with a chance to win $200 cash!  No trite, or cliché imagery. Ex. No logos, cartoon characters, symbols or stick people. Use your drawing skill for Pete’s sake!!!  Your prints can be from different drawings. Or you can use two variations of the same drawing.  You want to create emphasis and repetition with texture, line and color.

14. So, what’s next?  Brainstorm ideas in sketchbook? How will you visually answer the theme?  What resources will you need? What imagery will be helpful?  What are some topics / imagery you could tackle?  Wildlife?  Habitat?  Landscape?  Culture / Tradition?  Rural / City?  Sporting Activities?  Recreation?  Subculture?
