2. Red folders are to be taken home and checked every day. Occasionally there will be forms for you to see. One side is keep at home and the other is return to school. Students are responsible for filling agendas out daily. Parents are to initial every night. This will help with reminders of homework.

3. Homework is not given every night. It’s according to what students need extra practice on. A 3 point participation grade will be given for every homework assignment as long as it is attempted. Missing homework results in missing recess until homework is completed. Students will then get half of their points. Reminder: Check agendas daily for assignments.

4. Students are expected to be respectful to others at all times. Clip chart: Conduct points are given for clipping up and points are taken away for clipping down. Grades are adjusted daily.

5. This is the first year for ISTEP testing for 3 rd graders. However, this year it’s a brand new test and a mystery of what will be tested. State is averaging a drop between 20%-40% this year in test scores. Teachers are teaching more rigorous content to get students better prepared.

6. The IREAD-3 assessment measures foundational reading standards through grade three. By the end of third grade, students are expected to be able to read independently. Additional intervention(s) for students who do not pass will be provided, such as summer school, reading groups, etc.
