2. The Hermitage in Sankt-Petersburg is one of largest museums of art, culture and history in the world. It was founded in 1764 as private assembly of Yekaterina II, and opened for public in 1852. A restoration department. The Hermitage includes Winter Palace, Small Hermitage, Old Hermitage, New Hermitage, the Hermitage Theatre — outstanding architectural ensembles.

3. The Pushkin MUSEUM (up to 1937 the Museum of Fine Arts), is the second on importance after the Hermitage in Russian Federation. It is the assembly of monuments, ancient and West-European art. It was opened in 1912 as a museum of masks by And. In. Tsvetaev, later have been developed as the picture gallery.

4. The Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, one of the leading scientific,art and cultural - educational centers of Russia, is the largest museum of Russian Artin the world. It contains 1856 items. It was a private collection of M.Tretyakov. In 1892 M.Tret'yakov gifted his collection to Moscow. After 1917 the collections of a number of museums and private assemblies have joined the Gallery. From 1985-95 the building of the Tretyakov Gallery was reconstructed. Since 1991 The Russian State gallery is known as The State Tretyakov Gallery ».

5. Winter Palace occupies the main place in the central ensemble of city on the Palace Square. This huge building differs expressive plastic of architectural details abundance of a sculpture. Thanks to system of ledges and vertical columns in the architecture of facades this extended building doesn’t seem monotonous.

6. The Мihalkovski Theatre in St.-Petersburg was opened in 1833 (the architect A.I.Brullov), in 1859 was reconstructed by the architect A. I. Кavos. It was used as a concert hall, then for performances of foreign troupes (from the end of1870’s till February, 1917 were played by French drama troupe). Since 1918 the Small theatre of opera and ballet was housed there, nowadays St.-Petersburg theatre of opera and ballet named after Мusorgski.

7. The Louvre, a monument of the architecture and the museum in Paris, is one of the architectural majorants of historical centre of the city. Originally it was a royal palace, erected on a place of the old lock in the 16 th -19 th centuries. Since 1791 — an art museum, the richest assembly of the Eastern art, antique and West-European art. The basis of the collection in the Louvre — former royal assemblies, nationalized collections of monasteries and private persons.
