1 Conduction, Convection, and Radiation Heat Transfer Activity PS - F-17 SI - A-3, 5

2 What we are doing... Today, you are going to create a brochure about heat transfer. You are going to define, illustrate, and label each type of heat transfer - conduction, convection, and radiation. There are 16 total possible points.

3 Procedure Fold you paper into three sections. Label each section as either conduction, convection, or radiation Then, for each section, define in your own words, illustrate (be creative!), and make sure you label your illustration so anybody who reads your brochure can understand heat transfer. Create this brochure as if you are explaining heat transfer to a little brother or sister.

4 Rubric 0 points1 points3 points 1. Define the method of heat transfer in your own words. Method is not identified nor is it defined. Method is partially defined, but the explanation is incomplete. IE – The explanation does not describe the method. Method is identified and defined completely. 2.Graphics / Illustration Method is not illustrated or there are no graphics. Method is partially illustrated, or the illustration is inaccurate/cannot be understood. Graphics are not relevant to the method. Method is illustrated, and the illustration is accurate and easy to understand. Graphics are relevant to the method. 3. Labeling Sections / graphics / illustration are not labeled. Section / graphics / illustration is partially labeled, but incomplete in its description. Section / graphics / illustration is labeled accurately, and it is easy to follow and understand.
