Interstate waters, including interstate wetlands – Columbia River 3. Other waters of the U.S. (intrastate) – Willamette River 4. Impoundments of waters of the U.S. – Kellogg Lake 5. Tributaries of waters of the U.S. – ditches acting as tributaries 6. Territorial seas – Pacific Ocean 7. Wetlands adjacent to waters of the U.S. Section 404, Clean Water Act

6 BUILDING STRONG ® PORTLAND DISTRICT 6 Section 404 exemptions  Normal farming, silvi-culture, and ranching activities  Maintenance, including emergency reconstruction of recently damaged parts, of currently serviceable structures ► Dikes, levees, riprap, bridge abutments or approaches, transportation structures ► Cannot change character, scope, or size  Construction/Maintenance of ► Farm or stock ponds, irrigation ditches ► Farm roads, forest roads, or temporary mining roads  Maintenance of drainage ditches
