2  It is people who make history what it is, so your job today is to research one person who contributed to the Industrial Revolution in the United States between 1860-1920. ◦ You will read text and handouts about your person ◦ You will create a small poster with: #1 - Listed highlights of that person’s achievements #2 - An illustration of the person’s most notable achievement #3 - How that person contributed to who we are now as a nation (enduring accomplishment)

3  Henry Ford - Achievements ◦ Founder of the Ford Motor Company ◦ Sponsor of the development of the assembly line technique of mass production. ◦ Developed and manufactured the first automobile that many middle class Americans could afford to buy- the Model T. ◦ Revolutionized work by offering $5 a day wage to his employees, double the going wage, which cut down on turnover.  Enduring Accomplishment ◦ Made factory work easier, and paid people a reasonable wage, set standards for working in factories
