2 I. Thou shalt not use a computer to harm other people. How can a computer harm people? II. Thou shalt not interfere with other people's computer work. How can someone’s computer work be ruined?

3 III. Thou shalt not snoop around in other people's computer files. What do people have on computers that might be considered private? IV. Thou shalt not use a computer to steal. How can people use a computer to steal?

4 V. Thou shalt not use a computer to bear false witness. How can people use a computer lie about someone? VI. Thou shalt not copy or use proprietary software for which you have not paid. Explain why you would feel bad if you created something special and people copied it?

5 VII. Thou shalt not use other people's computer resources without authorization or proper compensation. Why don’t you log into someone else’s name even though you know how to? VIII. Thou shalt not appropriate other people's intellectual output. Would you let a friend copy a report you spent a lot of time on? What if someone copied it without asking you?

6 IX. Thou shalt think about the social consequences of the program you are writing or the system you are designing. Should you be able to create a web site about popular classmates or who’s the best athlete? X. Thou shalt always use a computer in ways that ensure consideration and respect for your fellow humans. Why should you be nice to other people?
