2 “…the day of the Lord is indeed great and very awesome, and who can endure it? – ‘Spare Your people, O Lord, and do not make Your inheritance a reproach…Why should they among the peoples say, “Where is their God?’” (Joel 2:11,17)

3 God IS The Living God He Is the ONE God Deuteronomy 6:4 – “Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!”

4  John 17:3 -- This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

5  Acts 14:15 – “…’Men, why are you doing these things? We are also men of the same nature as you, and preach the gospel to you that you should turn from these vain things to a living God….’”

6  “Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’”

7  Psalm 36:9 – “For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.”

8  “For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, to hew for themselves cisterns – broken cisterns that can hold no water.”

9  Isaiah 44:12-17  Forge a cutting tool  Work hard and sweat  Get a chunk of wood  Mark it, measure it, cut it appropriately.  Use part of it to cook your food.  Worship the other part as god.

10  They say, “Where, now, is their God?”  Our God is in the heavens.  Theirs are silver and gold  Dead mouths, dead eyes, dead ears, dead noses, dead hands, dead feet, dead voices  Worship them and you will be dead too.

11  Heathen idolatry: polytheism, deism  Philosophical idolatry: atheism, agnosticism, humanism, atheistic science…

12  He Is Spirit  John 4:24 – “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

13  1 Cor. 2:10 – “For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.”

17  Matthew 5:45 – “…for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”  Psalm 145:9 – “The Lord is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works.”

18  Isaiah 5:16 – “But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.”  1 Peter 1:15 – “…but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior.”

19  Psalm 103:8 – “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.”  Psalm 116:5 – “Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate.”

20  Psalm 89:14 – “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; lovingkindness and truth go before You.”
