provides technical assistance to arts organizations and artists in all disciplines - music, theatre, dance, and visual arts. We are dedicated to creating high-quality digital media and text- based documentation for the promotion, advocacy and professional development of the clients we serve.

The artsTEK team of professional teaching artists and videoographers delivers high quality program design services in tandem with a state of the art digital media editing studio. Our mission: to provide the highest.quality digital media for promotion, advocacy and professional learning applications. Every student in American today should have the opportunities for creativity, inspiration and learning that arts education provides. The highest standards of arts education programming are only met when the agencies who deliver these services have ability to assess the quality of programming and to provide detailed study guides and curriculum materials for every artist that works in an education environment. Quality standards begin with the careful selection of just the right artists - those who combine a high level or artistic mastery with a passion for their art form and desire to share it with young people. It is demonstrated in the careful construction of programs that balance performance and active student participation, and is ensured through a rigorous set of standards developed with staff, experienced educators, and skilled artists.

With the improved capability of streaming video and Web-based communication, it is now economically practical for the clients who engage the services of teaching artists to make informed decisions, based not only on print media, but also from viewing video documentation from an actual performance demonstration. Digital media promises to become the only means by which an artist or arts organization can showcase the benefits arts education to students. It had become the single best way to will elevate the profile of our master teaching artists and inspire new artists. The use of digital media and streaming video is essential to the task of communicating effectively with the educators we serve. Documenting the high quality of programs helps to demonstrate the educational value of the learning experiences we provide. In this way, we can meet the challenges of school leaders who are increasing called upon to justify expenditures of both time and dollars. We know for a fact that the arts provide a unique and powerful method to educate children across the curriculum and motivate school communities. Now we have to tell that story in a convincing way.

1. The process is initiated by recording a stationary, unedited, single-camera documentation of the artists’ assembly, workshop or residency programs. This rough cut recording may be produced locally with coaching from the artsTEK team.

2. convenes to review the documentation videotape in order to produce a program outline, promotional descriptions and detailed conceptual framework of the presentation to be rendered as a finished Web Movie.

3. Using the conceptual framework, e-conference meetings are conducted with artists, educators and others, to propose programmatic, promotional, educational and artist-relevant recommendations for program segments that will be simulated in a staged recreation of the program for video production.

4. Artists and team members devise a detailed list of specific segments with instructions for the videographers who will record the restaged production of the program. This process may also be accomplished via e-conferencing.

5. A digital recording is then created by the staged simulation program of selected program segments on location with student participants. Interviews from artists, the school principal and classroom teachers are recorded on the same day. It is recommended that our producers be on-location for this part of the process

6. Videotape footage from the restaged simulation of the program is edited into Web movies or webisodes. Artists may also direct the creation of promotional footage for highlights of the program with a to- camera intro. These digital media assets are posted online, with creation of DVDs for distribution based on organizational needs.

7. Webisodes and the resulting program outline, together with the descriptive materials become the a springboard for discussions with artists and others for extended professional development activities.

Creativity Coaching Hearing another point-of-view can sometimes help us to see things in new or different light. Teaching artists especially can often benefit from interacting with others to examine their program in new ways. staff can assist on any level of creative program design: New assembly, workshop or residency designs Revamp or improve existing designs Interdisciplinary and multi-arts designs Curriculum integration with learning outcomes in academic areas Constructing new promotional and study guide packages
