2. Our high school is located in Montrouge, one of the nearest suburbs in the south of Paris.

3. Montrouge comes from latin : monte which means mount and rubeus:red,named so for the reddish colour of the earth in this area

4. , A short history of the town: jnkIt was home of monastries( middle ages), reserve for royal hunt (16th C) and a quarry for the reconstruction of Paris.In the 19th C. a part of Montrouge was annexed to Paris as the city started to grow. The rest of the town remained independent.

5. , jnkIn the twentieth century, the town knew an industrial development mainly in the printing field, which led to the foundation of many printing factories.

6. , Outings ThereThere are many sites to visit in Montrouge such as : the quarries,the Town Hall, some artists’ homes …etc.Many artistic exhibitions are held in Montrouge. But what is more interesting is that Paris is just few minutes away! j

8. Maurice Genevoix : A French poet and writer (1890-1980). He was enrolled in WWI,which made him acquire a deep insight in the human nature. He became a member of the so prestigious ‘Academie Française’ which is the highest achievement for a writer.
