3. Talk in a quiet voice in the library. Walk in all areas of the library. Listen carefully and follow directions. Students are quiet when someone is speaking. Food and drinks are not allowed in our library. Handle the books with care. Raise your hand if you want to speak.

4. Kindergarten, First Grade, & Second Grade may keep their books for 1 week. Third- eighth grades may check out three books for 1 week. You may renew your books 1 time unless it is a very thick book, and then you may have extra time. Fines (10 cents per day) are charged for overdue books. Fines start on the second day after the book is due. You get a grace day. Third-eighth graders have fines. Your teacher will tell you what level of book to get and what kind of book to get.

5. We have:  Easy Books  Fiction Books  Biographies  Non-Fiction Books  Reference Books  Periodicals(magazines)

6. Start with AR level 0.3 and end with AR level 3.9 May be known as picture books Caldecott Award is given for the book with best illustrations. Arranged by AR level ; call number begins with E 0.3-2.9 Nonfiction books are included with the fiction books. Books that are make-believe, imaginary, and not true Sometimes known as chapter books Usually have AR levels from 2.5-8.0 ; call number is FIC Newbery Award is given for the best story.

7. Books that are true, factual, and real-life Arranged in AR levels from 3.0-12.0 Usually have table of contents page, index page, & glossary. Used sometimes when researching. Encyclopedias Atlases Almanacs Dictionaries

8. Magazines Newspapers Cannot be checked out. (Must be used in the library) Books written about people by someone else Have a call number of B
