4. NATURAL DISASTERS “ Caused by nature. Humans have limited, if any, control ”

5. CYCLONES Typical for tropical climates, cyclones are a natural occurrence, developing over warm waters and breaking down as they cross land. Depending on their severity, cyclones can have a massive negative impact leaving a trail of destruction with damaging winds, flooding and cutting electricity.

7. FLOODS Floods are are a natural disaster caused by heavy rainfall and/or the bursting of damns, rivers etc. Floods can be unpredictable, leaving little time for preparation, and as such can have a negative impact by destroying homes, cutting off electricity, contaminating water, cutting off roads and food supply.

9. MAN MADE DISASTERS “ Created and controlled by humans. Nature does not generally play a dominant role ”

10. MASSACRES Massacres generally involve the uneccessary slaughter of a number of people by one or more persons. As such it is a man made disaster.
