The Pinellas Park High School English students were proud to narrate this for their partners at Pinellas Park Elementary School

The following are poems written and narrated by a few of the English I students at Pinellas Park High School. As caterpillar to butterfly So are Teenagers to Adults

C to B as T to A The caterpillar eats and grows As teens make and learn their mistakes The caterpillar makes itself a chrysalis As teens drift away from home Caterpillar thrust its way to a new life as a butterfly As teens become adults and have new beginnings by Christina Namechand and Tabitha Steward

My Little Dear Angry at life, full of fear Small little butterfly, come to me I’m thinking of you, my little dear My heart adores your size of heart Come to my hand, you will feel all-right Never will I let you go, keep your wings at sight. By Aia Islamova and Varsha Rawana

My Life I feel the light in my eyes My life is becoming one Growing so big Becoming so strong Finding my insides My life has just begun. by Richard Crane

HI ! Boom, Kabaam, I saw it break free, It looked more beautiful that I thought it would be. Boo-hoo-hoo as I cried through, I cried louder and louder until I turned blue. So butterfly is what they call you – They call me the incredible Mr. Vue. As life goes by, Everyone tends to stop saying hi! I wonder if it’s the same with butterflies? by Jeremy Vue and Steven Pham

Stages From a womb to a child From a caterpillar to a cocoon From a child to an adult From a cocoon to a butterfly These are the stages Of a butterfly and a teenager by Kevin Ledlie and Ashley Ramsey

Metamorphosis I start young, a 12-legged creature, and of course, they notice my features. I don’t like the way that I look, so I’m going to flip like a book. I go into a little cocoon, and I don’t want to leave. Very soon I’m finally done, as time flew by I have become a beautiful butterfly. by Cody Arnold and Hogan Ramos

Breaking Free Breaking free like a butterfly Hearing the crackling as you go Using your power to get out Getting smarter as you grow Be free and never let go You still have the power to know by Ashley Millard and Tracy Coward

Free to Be Me Tick Tock, Tick Tock It’s almost time for me to enter the world Zip, Zip, Zip I can hear it now Life’s long cocoon is breaking apart Flash, Flash life goes by It’s the teenage memories we kiss goodbye by Elijah Bowling

CHANGES Change Life changes like gears in automobiles Change is good Change is for the better For the good you can form Into someone good Change is good though it can be bad Not enough experience and life can be a drag

Change can form like a worm in a cocoon when your fully grown you can Look and feel good So when you develop to your best you can be on your own Away from the rest When you look at life, it will remind you the more good you do the better the change And release you like the butterfly from the cocoon. by Bernard Ramirez
