The Hammerhead Shark

Physical Characteristics Hammerhead sharks are consummate predators that use their oddly shaped heads to improve their ability to find prey. It can grow up to 20 feet long. Razor sharp teeth. Not known as a human killer.

Personality Traits Blood searching predators. They eat anything from crabs to other small sharks. Very aggressive fish. They seem to be confident fish, but they are actually scared unless they are in a school.

Natural Habitats Of course its going to be in water, but they prefer colder waters. They feel alone and scared when they are by themselves, which is why you mostly see these sharks in schools from 50-300. They will only prey on creatures that are smaller than them, they hate a challenge.

Symbolic Uses The Hammerheads symbolic use is patients. It patiently waits for food or prey to come around for it to eat. In this case, waiting for another body to eat.

Allusions An allusion for the hammerhead shark is the story called "The Columber" A man and his son went out to sea, the son saw this large fish that was known for cursing anyone who sees it. The father didn’t see it, and he tells him to go off and get an education and to not be a fisherman like him. After he graduates college he decides to go against his fathers will and go out to sea. He sees the large fish again to only find out it only wanted to give him a pearl.
