3 1. Impute (verb) Example: The car’s manufacturer imputed the steering problems to faulty tires. What does impute mean? Impute – to assign blame or responsibility for Synonym – attribute Antonym – vindicate

4 2. Dispute (verb, noun) Example 1: Lisa disputed my claim that she was always late; in fact, she said, she was usually early. Example 2: The city council was divided by the dispute over sales taxes. 9 6. Annotate (verb) Example: The difficult book would have attracted more readers if the author had decided to annotate it. What does annotate mean? Annotate – to explain or discuss through a note
