3. Deva, the town at the foot of the Citadel, is one of the oldest settlements in our country, is attested from 1269. Nowadays, Deva occupies first place in importance among the five municipalities of Hunedoara County, is an important political, administrative and cultural city and county of residence. It is located in the central part of the county, 45 0 53‘ north latitude and 22 0 54' east longitude at an altitude of 187-220 m above sea level, between the Apuseni Mountains and Poiana Rusca. Temperate climate is typical of the city, mean summer temperature being 21 0 C in the winter of -1 0 C.

16. Secular historical and architectural monument. It is the most important monument of secular Gothic architecture in Transylvania. The edifice is built on the site of a century fortress. 18. The Densuş Church (also known as St Nicholas' Church) in the village of Densuş, Hunedoara County, Romania is one of the oldest Romanian churches still standing.
