5  To strengthen the participating states capacity to increase and support self advocacy through relationships and partnerships at the community level.

6  The grant is for $100,000 a year and may be funded for two more years.  The objectives of the project include ◦ Peer advocacy and mentoring, ◦ Training and leadership development, ◦ Educations and outreach.

7  DD Councils  P an A’s,  UCEDD’s  ARC’s  Sibling Leadership Network  National Youth Leadership Network  Other Regional Technical Assistance Grant Awards”  NEAT: New England States  Pacific Alliance: ASAN

8  Collection of 1200 surveys on what are the technical assistance needs of the state and region. ◦ Each state will collect and input 150 surveys in survey monkey

9  Developing state and regional plans for peer to peer technical assistance ◦ State and regional plans for Technical Assistance will be developed based on survey results

10  Each state will write 2 Blogs on issues identified in survey

11  Establish a Southern Collaborative page on the SABE website

12  Set up a Facebook page and Twitter feed for Southern Collaborative members

13  Providing 5 webinars for states to share their expertise

14  Each state will receive a grant to complete surveys, develop a plan for technical assistance and begin implementation of the plan.  States will receive a total of $6250 for the first year

15  The Advisory Committee will meet at a minimum of four times a year ◦ This is our first meeting. ◦ We will conduct our meetings as a Webinar ◦ We will have another one in November to work on survey and grant contracts.  November 19, 2013 at 2:30 CST. 3:30 EST

16  The grant will pay for one nights lodging for one nights lodging for 2 advisory members/and one ally to attend the meeting.  States will have to assume responsibility for travel and per diem for these meetings

17  Develop the Survey.

18  Write Contracts for the States with at least one partner(Self advocacy groups will need to contact partners to encourage them to participate in discussions with us).

19  Complete a state demographic survey with each state.

20  Get contact information: e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and a picture of each advisory board member and Allies, if possible.

21  Establish a Southern Collaborative Page on SABE website

22  Set up a Facebook page for the Southern Collaborate

23  Set up a Twitter feed for the collaborative

24  Set up a listserv (Syracuse University will assist us with this)
