1 Samantha Vnook

2 Introduction This webquest is aimed toward elementary school, children 2 through 4 graders. You will search about the holiday, Christmas and how it is celebrated all over the world. You will then have to talk about how Christmas is celebrated in their own culture as well as other cultures. You have to describe at least 5 countries or cultures’ view on Christmas. Then talk about all the traditions that are important to them. At the end of the searches you will create a presentation and make up some of your own traditions and ways to celebrate Christmas. This new celebration will have nothing to do with your tradition it will be different from what you are accustomed to. For example: instead of putting up a Christmas tree you can plant flowers.

3 You will be put into a group of five. Each person will choose a country from the list and answer the questions. At the end of your search you are going to share with each other what you have found out about your country’s “Christmas”. Finally, after you have shared your findings you will then as a group produce a Power Point Presentation about your country. After each slide with the information you found, you will create your own version of Christmas. Make up your own traditions, different from what you are use to. Be creative and original!
