In 2012-13, was piloted with eight Y12 students in two schools. Survey results showed Before the process 57% were not sure they had the potential for HE level study, at the end of the process 100% felt they were. 100% felt HE Skills Map gave them useful information to use on a Personal Statement or an application for a course or job. 6 out of 7 said it had helped them feel more confident about their ability to work at a HE level.

Pilot with Y12s in five schools. Would a WP team like to pilot it with some of their WP students?

How will WP Teams use the site? Sue Lewis: Western Vocational Progression Consortium

Follow up resource for schools to use after sessions with WP Outreach Lesson plan(s) used by schools or WP teams. Useful to recommend to young people, parents, schools as IAG resource when receive request for IAG. Careerpilot/Lifepilot cards given out at end of session. WP activities designed to include intro. to CP and a chance to try it out. HE Skills Map pilot with On Track to Bath students. Etc. Some planned use

Please promote to your partner schools: send on newletters, cards, etc. Train WP teams, etc. What you can do?

Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth are proposing: That at the Careerpilot/Lifepilot Partnership meeting in April, an IAG forum is established. The IAG forum will aim to provide professionals working within an Outreach/Fair Access IAG role in a South West university with a support network. Proposed IAG Forum All 7 webinar attendees agreed with the proposal

How best to access training - through joint funding, etc. How we are managed in terms of professional development? Sharing good practice, what works well what doesn’t? How do we overcome barriers within our roles? How can we use Careerpilot to share our materials and practice? The IAG forum could include discussions on: How will this work? One person from each uni with an IAG role to attend the IAG forum, either at the end of Careerpilot meetings or as a separate meeting, perhaps twice a year at a SW university. Please wave your hand if you think this will be a good idea? If so send any ideas to be included in the first IAG forum for April 2015 to Sally sbaker@bournemouth.ac.uk

HEFCE is making 22m funding available to establish networks for collaborative outreach. There is funding to establish Single Points of Contact (SPOCs) through a lead institution. Although not confirmed there are likely to be three in the SW What do you think? WVPC is considering proposing that each SPOC provides funding to: Ensure system integration between Careerpilot and the SPOC websites as the provider of IAG Establish the newly proposed IAG Forum Develop a Parents/carers zone in Careerpilot Maintain HE Guidance for adults Funding opportunity? All 7 webinar attendees agreed with the idea

Next meeting: Face-to-face in April Venue and date to be agreed Thanks for coming
