5 Skim & Scan Is a powerful way to prepare your brain to receive and remember lot’s of info. Don’t take notes until you have done it! Here is how to DO IT!

6 Turn to Page 2 This page gives you a general overview of what Chapter 1 is all about: Title You have the Title Key Concepts You have the Key Concepts. Read them, don’t worry about whether you understand them When you start reading, everything you read will be evidence supporting the key concepts

7 Now Flip through the chapter from beginning to end Read Only the: – Section Titles – Key Concept – Main Ideas – Vocabulary Just the words, not the definitions

8 Return to the front of the chapter Look at & READ all – Picture & captions – Tables – Charts – Graphs
