The World Vegetable Center AVRDC Achievements 19 Cumulative yields (kg/ha) Cumulative Gross market values (FCFA)

The World Vegetable Center AVRDC Achievements: 20 Koutiala Okra Tomato

The World Vegetable Center AVRDC Achievements 21 Koutiala Roselle

The World Vegetable Center AVRDC Conclusion for the trials 22 I)The pure culture is the best in terms of gross market values for vegetables, II)For intercropping, we need a second year of trials to confirm the trend: Intercropping 25% of cereal/legumes associated with 75% of Vegetables seems to give the best gross market values, III)For mono cropping, the AVRDC developed varieties are the most productives comparatively to all the checks, IV)The superiority of practices (A or P) is not obvious and further trials will allow to know more.

The World Vegetable Center AVRDC Achievements: Nutrition 23 Sub-activity 6.1: Review and confirm nutrition training modules with input from nutritionists Results:  Training Modules revised and compiled as a training manual for extension workers (the draft document is under review) Topics covered  Food groups  Malnutrition  Optimal feeding practices for children and pregnant and lactating women  Harvest and post-harvest conservation and transformation  Food Hygiene  How to improve food and nutrition security.

The World Vegetable Center AVRDC Achievements: Nutrition 24 Sub activity 6.3: Joint Ghana-Mali nutrition planning to develop 2015 work plans Main results:  Meeting organized in Ouagadougou-Burkina Faso (14-16 January 2015)  Work plan for the coming years available
