Inorganic chemistry- the study of materials other than those classed as organic 4. Physical chemistry – the study of physical characteristics of materials and mechanisms of their reactions.

3 5. Biochemistry – the study of materials and processes that occur in living things. 6. Nuclear chemistry – involves the study of subatomic particles

4 Pure science – search for understanding of our physical and natural world for its own sake Applied science - (technology) – practical application of scientific discoveries.
