2 ABSTRACT My plan is to buy some luxury cars from here in the United States, and ship them to my address in Dubai to start selling around the Gulf Coast Arab nations. Coming from the region, I know that there is a pretty strong demand for luxury cars in these countries. I want to, with my family’s help, buy around 5 luxury cars from dealers in the United States to sell to people I know back home to make a profit. My father has agreed to finance the cars so long as he makes a nice profit in return. He will buy the cars and pay for the shipping costs, so he will make most of the money. My job, mainly, will be to be the salesman. Many people want these cars back home, but can’t afford them because monopolies and families control dealerships in certain regions. This drives the prices higher and higher for people who wish to buy the cars. So by this summer, at least 5 new Arab people will have access to a cheaper version of the luxury cars that they wish to have.

3 FACTS ABOUT THE PROJECT A: This project is a great step for me in the direction of international business. By starting and completing this project, I will learn new laws about shipping and international business, as well as gain some business experience. I feel this also helps my finance degree, since I will be working with an investor (my father) and will essentially be working for him. That gives me experience and helps me learn a working environment related to finance. Although it isn’t directly dealing with being a financier, it does help me gain working experience. B: I feel that I will be benefitting a region different than the United States by completing this project. Through a market, I will be supplying people with a good they want and demand. These people will be able to buy the vehicles that they want from me for a cheaper price than they would get if they were to try and buy the cars from a dealership in the region. Someone who is engaged globally wants to benefit not only their society, but the society of the world as a whole. I feel that I am doing that by providing a good to people in a different country.

5 FACTS ABOUT MY PROJECT E: Personal Strengths: Outgoing, friendly, intelligent, business smart, and connections in the area. I need to have good qualities that make others believe that I am giving them an honest and good deal. Personal Outside Assets: I have groups of friends and family that all live in the Gulf Arab region. They’re connections that can help me sell these cars and make my profit. Personal Weaknesses: Kind-hearted, generous, and giving. I need to make sure I am firm on my prices with customers. Personal Outside Threats: The possibility of the law and government stopping me is a possibility. Before shipping the cars, I need to make sure that I am in accordance with the laws.

6 ALTERNATIVE If this project does not work, I would still want to do a project that involves international shipping and business. Another idea I had was to ship some construction equipment, like lumber, nails, and tools, and ship them to Dubai to build cheap housing for a poorer region in the region.
