3. Summary This book is about John, a boy who is in the army after high school. He meets Savannah who is doing mission work and they fall in love. After a while, John has to go back to the army, so they wrote letter to each other, but they started to drift apart when 9-11 occurs and John is forced to re-enlist in the army. They begin to grow apart and eventually Savannah sends him a letter that says she is in love with someone else, Tim, so John stops communicating with her. A little while later, John’s father died and left John all the coins from his coin collection that is worth a lot of money, but John donates all the money to Tim’s fund, because Tim has Melanoma, then John never spoke to Savannah again and goes on living his life in the army.
