Now installed on production storage Edinburgh: srm.glite.ecdf.ed.ac.uk  Local and global redir work (port open) e.g. root://srm.glite.ecdf.ed.ac.uk//atlas/dq2/mc12_8TeV/NTUP_SMWZ/e1242_a159_a165_r3549_p1067/mc1 2_8TeV.108344.McAtNloJimmy_AUET2CT10_SingleTopSChanWmunu.merge.NTUP_SMWZ.e1242_a159_a1 65_r3549_p1067_tid00864092_00/NTUP_SMWZ.00864092._000002.root.1  Older disk servers upgraded to (gLite) DPM 1.8.2 and use dpm-xrootd v3.1.1. Works fine Annoyingly a switch has 1095 blocked – back to networks… So only part of Edinburgh storage available – should be sorted this week… Glasgow: svr018.gla.scotgrid.ac.uk  E.g. root://svr018.gla.scotgrid.ac.uk//atlas/dq2/user/ilijav/HCte st/user.ilijav.HCtest.1/group.test.hc.NTUP_SMWZ.root  Again using dpm-xrootd v3.1.1 with gLite –an issue possibly with SL5.5 (a yum update fixed)  All Glasgow storage should be accessible now.

3.  Proxy: Now automatically updating at both ed and gla Using my DN; insecure and error prone method Will try new LFC_HOST=prod-lfc-atlas-ro.cern.ch  Upward redirection no longer a problem…  No redirection on disk server failure Noticed that if service is not running on disk server where file is or if port is not open then no redirection to another site occurs. Server broken more likely failure than file missing so redirection would be useful.

4. Local Redirector - Working  Fixed firewall problems with proxy server  Found and fixed permission problems on proxy server as well.  Can now download files from off site but need to use 'srm' path and RAL redirector. Federation / Global redirector  Working on configuration to get N2N to work and to work with UK regional redirector.  Very much trial and (lots of) error at the moment.  Would be interested in knowing if there was any CERN Castor configuration that could be copied? (The CMS config copied is missing stuff like N2N)

5. Tests:  Don't think the test files have been distributed (to RAL) yet.  No test HC jobs being sent yet. Not a problem as they would fail currently but hoping to get this to work properly before next meeting. Not related to Federation,  production jobs at RAL will be using xrdcp rather than rfcp to copy files to WN.  Still waiting on Paul Nilsson for news about if we can try writes to castor using pilot.

6.  Production storage at Edinburgh / Glasgow available in federation  Can now stress test (in september after my hols) Best hammercloud test/dataset to use? Would also like to try changing normal pilot to use xrootd instead of rfio (possibly direct access)  Other UK DPM sites will likely wait for future DPM /xrootd versions with less manual tweaks Unless we want to push / guide them : possible.  RAL local xrootd redirection working via proxy server Integration with federation progressing but could benefit from a CASTOR example to copy…
