ICT is always changing and improving which effects everything in different ways. This presentation will show you some of the impacts and how it effects us as an industry. 2 Online Shopping Industry
The Social impact of ICT is effecting the Online Shopping Industry by making it easier for people to shop at home. People with access to the internet are now shopping online at home and there grocery shopping is being delivered to their house. Now you can immediately pay for items over the internet using your card, typing your details into the computer. This may be a big advantage in some people’s lives but has many complications. Some of these complications are Fraud, getting more money taken out of your bank than expected.

3 Education ICT is effecting up-to-date education by:
Schools are now introducing ‘online homework’. Which means a child with access to the internet can find out there homework through educational website, enabling them to become familiar with the internet by creating there own portal on the website. By doing so they are creating an online communication system with there subject teacher. Interactive whiteboards are also a big impact in school education now as teachers are creating power point presentations to show on interactive whiteboards, giving the children a greater understanding of what is being taught. Also they are given a chance to interact and learn computer skills.

4 How it effects you We are being effected by the ICT by:
Online Shopping Generation gap - the younger you are the more you will be introduced to computer technology, preparing you for the upcoming impacts. Social Networking – Facebook, Twitter, etc. is taking over the internet. Most people spend just under 90% of there time on one of these sites. People who may have lost contact or would like to keep in touch with each other may join some of these sites, some building up a online relationship.

5 Email Messages are prepared and sent to a person’s mail box in
Advantages Doesn’t depend on the person you are sending it to being in a specific location. You can type a message and send it to more than one recipient. You can attach documents or pictures to them. It is a quicker way to send information. Messages are  prepared and sent  to a person’s   mail box in  a central  computer

6 Entertainment Computer Games Good Points Bad Points
Choice – there are a lot of games to choose from whether they are educational or action fun games. Sound effects – The sound effects keeps you alert and makes educational games more fun. Reality – Puts you into a more real life position and some help you learn things you will later need in the future. Bad Points Quality – some websites have poor quality games and may even take ages to upload so when it has you aren’t that interested.

7 Presentations Nearly, every presentation nowadays includes a Microsoft Power Point. This is because people have different learning types. If you are an audio learner, you are going to be able to understand by listening to the presentation. If you are a visual learner then also you will be able to watch the power point and understand all the detail. Microsoft Power Point enables you to add sound affects, images, and animations keeping your audience interested.

8 Plagiarism Plagiarism is a big argument in society as it is now being involved in Coursework in schools. Plagiarism means when you copy parts/all of secondary data.

9 Economic employment structure
Online Shopping – This is creating jobs for people the other side of the computer. The people who process orders and arrange for them to be delivered to the person buying them.

10 Privacy of Information
Some information on the internet has been protected from plagiarism. The Freedom of information act was formed in Documents received under the Freedom of Information Act may still be subject to copyright, so the rules governing their reproduction are the same as for those from any other third party. This act does not directly compromise the privacy of other people because there is some information e.g. data bases, that need to be kept private and secure.
